A conversation with Dr. Kathy Bailey ‘76, Ph.D. ‘01 on the Ukraine/Russia conflict
When Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an invasion of Ukraine more than two years ago, it set off the largest conflict in Europe since World War II. Today, as the fighting continues, casualties mount, the flow of U.S. aid is uncertain, and the humanitarian crisis worsens, it is unclear where the conflict is headed. The decisions and actions taken today will determine both Ukraine’s fate and the future of European security. But, before we look towards the future, it is important to understand the context and event that precipitated this conflict. What lessons can we learn from the past to help us think about what comes next? Dr. Kathy Bailey ‘76, Ph.D. ‘01, the Director of the Gabelli Scholars Program and the Islamic Civilization & Societies Program will walk us through the complexities of Ukraine/Russia conflict and lead us to the answer of this very important question.
Cost: $15 (Includes Refreshments)
Virtual Presentation Only: 7:00pm - 8:00pm
