Art, Activism, and Ecofeminism.

This talk centers on fungi as a symbol of collective, terrestrial carnality that transcends divisions between mind and body, humans and nature, and materiality and spirituality.

Dr. Xalli Zúñiga is a Latina/x artist-academic from Mexico. Zúñiga’s work explores the intersections of art, ethnomycology, and Latina/x feminisms, focusing on “mycorrhizal” connections to address the impacts of coloniality, capitalism, and environmental crises. Through art and dialogue, they foster care ecologies and challenge anthropocentrism, contributing to the vision of a multispecies, interconnected world.
