ory \n\nSeismology is a global science\, and the Jesuits and Jesuit univer
sities have been involved in operating seismic stations and conducting ear
thquake studies in many parts of the world. Why would an order of priests
like the Jesuits be so interested in seismology and scientific discovery?
Join us for a session that will also explain how natural disasters particu
larly affect the world's most vulnerable communities. One of the presenter
s of this session is from Nepal\, and his family was strongly affected by
the earthquake that devastated his country in 2015. \n\nA light lunch will
be provided. This session is sponsored by the Department of Earth and Env
ironmental Sciences\, Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences.
