DESCRIPTION:Out-of-school factors profoundly affect learning\, particularly
for historically marginalized communities\, and the COVID-19 crisis has on
ly intensified the need to address these factors. Many schools seek to offe
r target responses to the needs of students and families via social-emotion
 al learning\, trauma-informed practices\, wraparound services\, and connect
ions to community services.\n\nSystemic whole-child approaches to student s
upport can be a powerful way to organize these diverse resources and to clo
se opportunity and achievement gaps. District and school administrators\, l
eaders\, and student support staff can benefit from an opportunity to deepe
n understanding of integrated approaches to student support\, as well as th
e ways in which such an approach is aligned with equity opportunities in ou
r schools. This session will provide guidelines for systematizing student s
upport with participation by a panel of educators who have moved in this di
 rection.\n\nAfter participating in this session\, educators will:\n\nIdenti
fy benefits of a systemic\, comprehensive approach to student support durin
g Covid and beyondGain familiarity with ways systemic student support can h
elp schools deliver social/emotional learning\, wraparound\, and other supp
orts to promote whole-child developmentIdentify ways in which integrated st
udent support aligns with equity initiatives in our schools
