The Corcoran Center Case Competition is a national undergraduate affordable housing case competition that challenges teams of 3-5 students to create an affordable housing project.

Based on actual development, the comprehensive case challenge incorporates a financial model and a narrative proposal that encourages teams to create economic and social value in their proposed development. This virtual competition is open to undergraduates from all majors.

There is $10,000 in prize money. The winning team receives a $5000 cash prize, $2500 for second place, $1500 for third place, and $500 for fourth place, and honorable mention teams also receive awards.

Senior leaders from the industry judge the finals in real-time. The competition offers two preparatory workshops led by industry experts designed to educate participating students and prepare students from diverse academic backgrounds for the competition.

Here is a brief timeline for the competition:

February 8, 2022 - 3 PM - Case Competition Virtual Information Session (Optional)

February 24, 2023 - Final Sign-up

March 24, 2023 - Students attend Workshop #1 (Virtual and digital recording)

March 31, 2023 - Students attend Workshop #2 (Virtual and digital recording)

April 16, 2023 - Case Submissions are Due

April 18, 2023 - Finalists Compete and Winners are Announced
