 rrett\, a pediatrician and social epidemiologist\, is an associate profess
 or at Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine.  She
  is the founding director of the Vital Village Network\, which uses a trau
 ma-informed lens to improve community capacity to promote child wellbeing 
 in Boston and support coalitions nationally through the NOW Forum. Her sch
 olarship has focused on early-life adversities as life course social deter
 minants of health. She has a specific concentration on psychosocial stress
  and neuroendocrine and reproductive health outcomes\, including obesity\,
  puberty\, and fertility. She is nationally recognized for work on the int
 ersection of community violence\, intimate partner violence\, and child ab
 use and neglect and neighborhood characteristics that influence these patt
 erns. Through dedicated community partnerships her current work is develop
 ing community-based strategies to promote child wellbeing and prevent chil
 dhood adversities. \n\nThe Pinderhughes Diversity Lecture Series brings ch
 angemakers to campus to speak about pressing topics within the field. The 
 series honors Professor Emerita Elaine Pinderhughes\, whose vision and men
 torship has long inspired students to advocate for social progress.
