Rumi Night on the Heights      The 5th Annual Rumi Night on the Heights will be held on Friday October 18th, 2013. The popular event focuses on the poetry of Jalal ad-Din Rumi, the famed 13th century Muslim Persian poet and mystic. The poems of Rumi have been translated into dozens of languages making him one of the most well-known poets worldwide.

Rumi Night hosts prominent Iranian musician Amir Vahab accompanied by Yvette Gogas with translated readings of Rumi’s poetry by Peter Rogen. The event also hosts “Whirling Dervishes” performing the Sufi Sama dance, which has been declared as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

After the performance attendees can enjoy some light refreshments.
