The Grace of Silence and the Power of Words
Award-winning journalist, author, and longtime host and special correspondent for National Public Radio Michele Norris will share the story of how Grace of Silence: A Family Memoir grew out of a journalistic quest to learn how America talked about race. That journey turned into a family history lesson that revealed to Norris her own racial legacy. It also led to her creation of The Race Card Project, winner of the 2014 George Foster Peabody Award for excellence in electronic communication.
