"Late Modernism & Expatriatism" An Irish Studies symposium hosted by Burns Scholar, Professor Lauren Arrington
Bringing together experts on twentieth-century poetry, fiction, and film, this symposium will investigate how the expatriate experience facilitated changes in style as well as subject. Keynotes by Bonnie Costello ( William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professor at Boston University), “'So large, so friendly, and so rich.’ Auden looks at America" and Jed Esty (Vartan Gregorian Professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania), “West of Eden/Erin: Pilgrims and Paupers in John Ford's America.
