Helpful Job Search Strategies for Graduate Students
With the increasing decline and lack of jobs within academia, and no sign of that changing, it is important now more than ever to develop your job search plan. Whether you've just started, no stranger to the search process, or haven't begun to prepare, this workshop is for you!
Parallel planning is a useful strategy in the event that interests and/or career plans change, unable to gain admission to a particular major or program, secure employment, or when pivoting from academia to industry, simultaneously. Come learn about parallel planning, among many other tools and resources, to propel you forward for your job search.
In this session, graduate students (master and doctoral degree-seeking) will
1) understand and identify their specific industry hiring timeline,
2) where and how to use job search tools and industry-specific resources, and
3) current trends practiced by employers.
Attendees are encouraged to bring questions.
Thursday, November 21 at 12:00pm to 1:00pm
