Graduate Student Career Workshop: Transferable Skills Needed to Pivot from Academia to Industry
With academia lacking any jobs for social sciences or humanities, it's important now more than ever to understand the value of a liberal arts degree and transition language for industry professionals to know your value (experiences, skills, education).
In this session, graduate students (master and doctoral degree-seeking) will understand
1) the core competencies desired by all employers and in all industries,
2) identify where one develops those competencies, and
3) review resume to ensure tailored document language is included for the reader.
Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of their resume or CV.
