Dialogue and Transformation Photography Workshops in the West Bank for Israeli and Palestinian Women
SASKIA BORY KEELEY is a Swiss photographer. She was educated at Geneva University, Sotheby’s and the New Academy for Art Studies in London. She also received training at the International Center for Photography.
Saskia has partnered multiple times with Roots, a peace initiative led by a Palestinian and Israeli joint committee in the West Bank, to conduct photo workshops for Palestinian and Israeli women. The objective was to promote dialogue and understanding between groups of women who would otherwise have no interaction. Those sessions took place at the heart of the conflict in the West Bank. During the workshops, in a safe and informal environment, Saskia witnessed uplifting and inspiring stories that illustrate intimate connections and relationships being created when women met and bonded over a common tool: the camera.
