2018 Greater Boston Intercollegiate Undergraduate Poetry Festival
Undergraduate student poets from 23 area colleges and universities will read their original poetry, with each poet making a three-minute presentation. The event celebrates poetry and highlights talented student poets who are devoted to the craft. It is free and open to the public. A chapbook of poetry written by participating students is published in conjunction with the event.
The program will begin with a keynote address by Jennifer Barber, Scholar in Residence at Suffolk University and founding and current editor of the literary journal Salamander. Recipient of the 2017 MacDowell Colony Fellowship and 2015 Tenth Gate Prize, Barber is the author of Works on Paper (The Word Works, 2016), Given Away (Kore Press, 2012), and Rigging the Wind (Kore Press, 2003). Barber’s poems and stories have appeared in Harvard Divinity Bulletin, The New Yorker, Upstreet, Post Road, and more.
